Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
At the end of the Bachelor of Social Work programme, students will be able to:
- Apply social work knowledge, theories, and methods in working with individuals, groups, and communities to address social issues and promote wellbeing.
- Assess social problems using critical and analytical skills and design context-appropriate intervention strategies based on scientific understanding and field realities.
- Integrate multidisciplinary perspectives from sociology, psychology, economics, law, public health, and development studies in social work practice.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, communities, institutions, and professional networks using appropriate verbal, written, and participatory methods.
- Demonstrate leadership and professional competence in organizing community-based programmes, awareness campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and welfare interventions.
- Promote social justice, human rights, equity, and inclusion while working with marginalized, vulnerable, and diverse populations.
- Practice social work with ethical responsibility, professional values, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to sustainability.
- Build networks and collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, community organizations, and other stakeholders for effective service delivery and social change.
- Conduct basic social research, documentation, and field-based inquiry to understand emerging social realities and support evidence-based practice.
- Engage in lifelong learning and professional development by adapting to emerging social challenges, policies, and innovations in the field of social work.
