The Department of Oriental Languages at Rajagiri Viswajyothi College focuses on making the students efficient in two languages, Hindi and Malayalam. The importance of these two languages do not require to be told, as both the central and state government have asserted it. As much as Hindi has served its purpose, Malayalam has reminded us of the significance of mother tongue, no matter which all languages are learned for different needs. Left with a choice between the two languages, our students have been divided in an almost similar manner. The faculty of the Oriental Languages take special care in making sure that the students also excel in these second languages, participating in inter-college events and winning prizes in the process. The case of second languages is given as much importance as the other subjects.
